Sugar free low carb taco seasoning
I don’t miss the store bought taco seasoning packets, full of unwanted ingredients. This recipe for sugar free low carb taco seasoning is roughly what I use when making taco seasoned beef, turkey, or chicken. Tastes and works the same as the stuff in the store, but without all the starches, fillers, and sugars.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper (optional, I always add this for extra heat)
DIRECTIONS
Combine all the ingredients well.
Feel free to multiply to a bigger batch, and store the taco seasoning in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
If you’re just wanting a sprinkle of taco seasoning on a serving of eggs, soups, vegetables, etc., this works great for that.
Otherwise, the recipe makes the equivalent of 1 taco seasoning packet, that you’d use for a full pound of meat.
